Remember Your First Time?

Remember the first time you laid eyes on your first Mini (or MINI)? I'd like to hear about it - see the first picture if you have it...

I'll start:

I had configured my 08 Clubman online and ordered through MINI of Hamptons (NY). After a red-eye flight to JFK, a cab drive to the bus station and a wacky Hampton Jitney ride to Southampton, my MA, Jerry Halloran, picked me up in his Pepper White MCS.

He drove me to the dealership (very small and next to the BMW dealership in Southampton) and we started filling out paperwork. I was looking around EVERYWHERE hoping to catch a glance of my new car - but NOTHING.

After about 30 minutes of paperwork, chit chat, etc - Jerry handed me a key fob. Still no car!

We walked back out the door (that we came in earlier) and in the bay space which, previously was empty, was now occupied by my new Clubman - Edgar! Here's the pic seconds after that moment:



I'm not sure about it, but I *think* Jerry planned it that way!

I took ownership of Edgar and we departed on a wonderful 9 day journey back to Arizona - taking back roads a majority of the time. A great ride home!

This thread was a good reminder to write up a story!!! I will have to get that done one of these nights I can't sleep!!!
