RIP Mini Lantern..

Postby kimgolf » Sat Sep 29, 2012 9:37 pm

On Wednesday, September 26 I was on on my way to school like any other day.
As I approached an intersection, I knew I had a green light but just in case I glanced over to my left. To my surprise, there was a brand new Ford F150 coming towards me, obviously running a red light.

I promptly slammed on the brakes and managed to avoid getting hit on my drivers side, yet wasn't able to avoid the car completely.

My Mini is now totaled, and for everyone who knows me knows me, knew my Mini Cooper was my baby.
Although heartbreaking, I can't help but thank Mini. This accident spread parts of my car all throughout the intersection, yet I managed to walk away with just minor whiplash.

We bought this car two years ago because we knew that Mini took pride in it's safety, and now I know how truly safe it is.

So to everyone who works with Minis, I can't even express my gratitude. I can't help but think about how terrible it could've been in any other car. So thank you for all you do.

And to any one who drives a Mini, they're a small car - but they do a big job.

I will soon be looking for a new Mini, so if anyone knows anyone selling please let me know..

Thank you,
Kim

Kim,

I am so sorry to hear about poor MINI Lantern BUT I am glad that you are OK and for the "most part" unharmed.

So sad to see a MINI in the local community go like that :(

I sure hope you find one soon. I don't know how long I'd be able to go without mine, I love her so much. So glad you are ok, and that MINI has proven itself in safety. Good luck :)

So sad to hear Kim and unfortunately I've been through similar circumstances with our first 2005 MCS.

Just glad that your okay and as you said, thankful for such a well engineered MINI that likely also saved my life from a red light runner.
