I'll race you anyday (drag racing is not real racing.) Come out to the cottonwood run and we will settle it there.

And Ive been in the VW scene since 99 and the BMW scene since like 2000 or so. Hey STEVE...when did u get on E46 or when they swapped from the other site...cause thats about the time I showed up....
hm I wonder if we have run into each other at some point then. and yeah justin, you're right, I find that interesting as well. I find it interesting that some douche bag never paid me what I was owed. I once mentioned "maybe we can settle up with paintwork" and he took that and ran with it and later said no we agreed it was gonna be paintwork. Even if we had agreed on that, we didnt, he never followed through and wouldn't return calls. I don't see why you felt the need to post a story about how I was taken advantage here on this board. It has absolutely no relevance to this board and is obviously a sore subject to throw at someone. You took this thread from a good heated discussion about styling, to digging up sore spots in my past off other boards. That was pretty childish and unnecessary.

and lets face it, some of us are argumentative, and have strong opinions (not excluding myself by a long shot) but like Will Ferrell said, everybody love everybody.

Yea...sorry...Im an A-Hole for the most part.... :,OO,

Yeah, 336+ MPH in the quarter in under 4.5 seconds is for pussies... hehe...

I'm not a drag racing fan, but blanket statements like that are just silly.

Fuel Altereds - some of the craziest drivers and most uncontrollable drag cars. Especially before they added the front wings to keep the front wheels down. They spent as much time going sideways as going forward.

No, I guess I didn't. My bad.

duality wrote:You know what though? you guys are right, you are all knowing. Wings are for downforce, and downforce on a FWD car that only goes 140mph is ridiculous. Sure CF saves weight over regular wings, but wouldn't no wing save the most? since it isn't needed?

You aren't gettin' out that easy  You've made too many of your opinion statements that you're trying to pass off as facts. So now I'm curious (I'm just a curious person by nature  )...

What's the correlation between vehicles drive configuration and vehicle aerodynamics you're trying to make?

At what speed, in your opinion, do automotive aerodynamics come into play?

thats fine if you think your 130 hp car needs massive amounts of downforce, but I disagree. If you race it, you're never going to go fast enough to actually need any downforce, plus to top it off, it's a front wheel drive car. all it does is make you look like a F&F wannabe.

It's all about speed...not HP. And yes...it is all relative. But you still need downforce. I was gonna post a pic of the John Cooper Works Challenge series with wings but here is a pic for your neck of the woods. This car must be a POS cause of the wing and rear valance. And with such low HP...those race teams dont know squat. And I think 135 mph in a Mini needs as much downforce as possible. This Audi being so damn low to the ground with the splitters and everything is just for asthetics
