ok, so the gp's have a 4 digit number on the roof, and scoop, etc. is this also like the 5 digit number after the TK on my door panel?

Not sure what you mean. There were a total of 2,000 GPs assembled in Bertone Italy and of those 2,000, 415 of them were shipped to North America. The car is a special edition of the MINI and the roof numbers start with #0001 (in a museum) and end with 2000. Each U.S. dealer received 4 but there are 6 or 7 in AZ I think. My son bought his in Indiana and had it shipped here. Jeff's came from Texas I believe. Mark got his at MNS. There is/was one in Scottsdale (MiniWorks had it last). There is one in Sierra Vista and not sure where the other(s) are. Mark - -anything to add? Otherwise, more info to be found here...

well thats cool!
good info. but what i was talkign about is when jason and i were comparing production numbers to see whos was older, his or mine. they were built in 5/02 but his had a few hundred lower than me. so i was wondering about door plate numbers and how they were comparable to the GP's just for decal purposes, etc.

Nope.. You perddy much covered it Patty. The number on the cars are pretty much random.. had nothing to do with the production.

I've done about 5 different styles of Number set for GP nock offs. I love those cars and making fun of them is even more fun.
Actually it's more likemaking fun of all the NGPs
