How to get a MINI

Greetings to all!
I have been looking non-stop at information on Mini's for a while now - my wife and I are in the market for a second car that's good on gas and fun to drive. We're a bit strapped for cash, so we were looking at getting a used Cooper (MT base model if possible - we don't really need the power) from '04-'07 (I've heard the 03's had some issues).
We're located in Tempe, does anyone here on the forums have advice or recommendations as to where the best place would be to get our hands on a MINI? The selection on Craigslist, among others, is pretty sparse. I'm sure it's because no one wants to let go of their MINI!
Any thoughts would be appreciated. Happy motoring!
