Actually a new cable modem might help, if you have cable. Mine had been getting slow, so I had Cox come out and they said it was the modem. It was 3 years old. They say new ones are better. Working much faster now with a new one.

Dee you are on Cox?

Try a new cable first. i was having problems with speed last year. When the cox guy came out, he checked the wire and the connections werent seated properly, so it wasnt making a proper connection.

I had an issue with my MAC being slow with Cox as well. They said it was due to an old cable modem (it was probably 3-4 years old). I went out and replaced the modem and it speeded up :drive again.
