Painting Party

Postby minisaz » Sun Mar 16, 2008 4:32 pm

After the Salt River run, my front grill got beat up pretty bad, so I am going to repaint it in the next few weeks. I decided I am going to paint my dash black also.

If there is anyone interested in painting anything black let me know. I am going to get automotive paint matched to my black. Along with clear coat which is better than the stuff from the hardware store.

Let me know we can have a painting party...

I'd like to, but I don't think I'll have my pieces prepped by then. But, I am curious about the clear coat. I unfortunately used a kind I'm not happy with on my dash. So I am sanding it off and going to apply a different one (most likely wednesday night).

wow! A lot of responses. I will go over to Space Age paint tomorrow to see if they have everything. I painted my side mirrors using this stuff, worked pretty well. I plan on doing my dash and redoing my grill.

This is the adhesion product:

This the 2 part Clearcoat/Hardener that is activated:

I am just going to do black...to match my car. I am going to get it mixed to match. It runs more than normal paint. (i think it was about $11 per can)

Maybe Thursday or Friday Evening??

Probably hard for them to screw up black, but definately take the can out after they mix it and compare it to yours. And don't let them tell you "oh it's darker because it's wet, it'll lighten p when it dries" :?
