DMC - Minis in the Mountains (MITM) 2008 - Registration Open

Discuss upcoming and old DMC events

Postby danjmcs » Fri Aug 01, 2008 6:49 am

FYI, the email from the MITM folks came out today with the PDF with all of the Event information. As in years past, I'll be printing out copies of these to hand out to those DMC Members making the trip, since they don't provide copies on-site.

I also insert a contact page that has cell phone numbers for the DMC Members making the trip, so that we can maintain some contact during the trip as well as make arrangements for the trip home, etc. I also add some area maps, some routes to/from for options on the trip back, etc.

If you want your contact info included on this page, please send me an email at dan@coopahs.com and I'll include it. If you know I have your number already, and DON'T want it in there, please let me know also via email.

Dan, can I get two (one for me, one for Kyle) on Monday when we go to MNS since both of us are leaving bright and early Tuesday morning?

Sorry, but I doubt I'll have them printed on Monday, probably not til Tuesday. If I do, I'll bring them with though.

As of Thursday morning, there were 225 people registered for MITM, 127 Drivers and 98 passengers. With last minute registrations and the usual lookie-loo's, it looks like a very nice turnout this year, considering gas prices and such. High temp was 72 yesterday!

Yeah, not bad at all. About what the first year was for attendees if I remember. MTTS has been well attended also, but for sure a big bulk of California Minis.

Looking forward to heading out on Weds!

:( :? well I for one am not amused that the participation is down this year......I thought we had like 175 or 180 cars last year and now its down to 127?!
I hope this isnt a trend coming into the Mini world......I allready have PPL in the Hummer club using "gas prices" as a crutch...the whole US population cant really be suffering from it costing $4-7 more each fill up or even $20 for that matter...unless your on the brink of poverty level.... but then they wouldnt be drivin a Mini or a Hummer would they

I'm sure the gas cost is a factor, but so I'm sure is the scheduling with Minis Take the States also being around the same month, for those looking to take a "Mini Vacation". People only have so many vacation days and vacation dollars.

We'll be there this year, but won't be able to catch one of the groups leaving so will travel alone. Dan, would you put an extra ride schedule in the bag for us when we get there?

Hey print one for me too Dan. I'll be leaving tomorrow evening so I can get there with enough time to set up my vendor area. Since I only booked Thursday and Friday for installs I will be able to go on some runs on Saturday.

See you all in few days. :D
Still driving a Mini. No matter the cost.
