Kitt Peak FunRun - Saturday April 4th

Now is the time to RSVP for the Kitt Peak FunRun & Observatory Tour.

Located on lands of the Tohono O'odham Nation in the Sonoran Desert southwest of Tucson, Kitt Peak today is home to the world's largest collection of optical telescopes under desert skies, the finest in the world for astronomical observations.

We start off meeting at Mickey D's and take a short drive to CIndy Lou's for breakfast. After breakfast, we will take the 40 minute ride up Kitt Peak to the observatory for a guided tour. We plan to stop along the way for a photo opp', so bring your camera. This is shaping up to be a great run. We should wrap things up just after noon.

Meet Up: 7:15 am McDonalds - Ajo Way & S. Kinney Rd Tucson, AZ

Depart: 9:00 am for Kitt Peak Observatory - Highway 86 to 386 - Tucson, AZ Phone # 520-318- 8726

Arrive: 10:00 am Observatory Tour - Tour fee $4

Thanks to Martha and Ray for putting together this run. The weather was cool (39 degrees) on the mountain but the views were spectacular.

The solar telescope was GIGANTIC!
