I had the oil service done at 15,000 miles at exactly 1 year ago. The odo now has 31,000 miles on it and the service indicator is still telling me more than 6000 miles more to go for the Inspection 1. Seems like 21,000+ miles is a long time to go between oil changes. Plus that reading will put me outside of the 36,000 mile free service. I made an appointment online with Mini Tempe anyways, but their website said service will only be done if the indicater has expired. Anyone have any experience with this? I thought I'd heard that they would do it if it was over 1 year regardless of the service indicator. I'll call the Service Dept. tomorrow to confirm.......just wondering.

That is correct, regardless of whether you hit the service mileage they will do the free oil change at the 1 year point.
