DRP - Holiday Lights Run - Sat Dec 18

We will once again be organizing a run around the valley of some of the great Holiday Lights displays!

Last year we started on the West Side, so this year we'll start in the East Valley, starting right around sun down, leaving from our regular car show night at the Pavilions in Scottsdale.

We will be giving out a prize to the best decorated Mini on the run, so start putting your ideas together!

We will start to group up at 5:30PM in the parking lots BEHIND the Target over to the West of the the movie theater. About 5:45 we will expect those that have decorated Minis to be in place so that we can pick a prize winner and then we will head out at 6PM sharp.

This is typically about a 3 hour run with a few stops along the way. Bring your radios, cameras and sense of adventure! Hopefully you'll see some parts of the valley you haven't seen before.

TIP
Make sure you have a navigator!!! Dan and Marilyn do an awesome job putting this run together, and because they fine tune the route right up to the day of the event, we do not get the route plan until event time. This event takes us through the city and through neighborhoods, after dark. Inevitably, we will all get caught at a stop light or two, or cut off from the group in traffic. It's hard to enjoy the holiday lights (let alone drive safely) when you're also trying to read a map (by the dashboard lights), so help yourself out and bring along a navigator. If you don't have a friend to ride along, post up that you need a navigator here on this thread, and can probably get you paired up with someone... making friends... that's what we're all about around here, right?

Im dropping the MINI off on Monday at Elwoods to get the repairs done from being rear ended recently. I probably wont have it back in time. We may join the group in our MINIvan. I'll have 5 co pilots.

I'm a lurker - I have been bed-ridden for the last couple of months. Got me a nice herniated disc and I can't sit for very long (so that counts out driving).

It's been awhile since the Boldts made it to any DMC functions, but we plan to make this one.
Michelle and the kids have made this run a few times in previous years, I always seem to be out of town.. but not this year!
Looking forward to it.
